Vijay Deverakonda, who is basking in the success of his recent hit film ‘Kushi,’ co-starring Samantha, is celebrating the movie’s impressive global earnings, nearing the Rs 100 crore mark. To share his joy with his fans, Vijay has made a generous promise. He has committed to donating Rs 1 crore from his earnings for ‘Kushi’ to assist 100 families in need. However, this act of kindness has brought to light a previous financial dispute.
Abhishek Pictures, a distribution company that was involved in distributing Vijay Deverakonda’s film ‘World Famous Lover’ in 2020, recently revealed that they suffered a substantial loss of Rs 8 crore due to the movie’s performance. They took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to express their hope that Vijay Deverakonda would consider extending his support to them as well.
Their tweet stated, “Dear @TheDeverakonda, We incurred a loss of 8 crores in the distribution of #WorldFamousLover, but our concerns went unanswered!! Now that you are generously donating 1 crore to needy families, we kindly request and hope that you can help us and the families of our exhibitors and distributors too. Thank you. Sincerely, Abhishek.”
This tweet from Abhishek Pictures has sparked a spirited discussion among Vijay Deverakonda’s fans, with some questioning whether similar compensation requests would be made of big heroes from film families and whether profit-sharing would have been considered if the film had enjoyed blockbuster success.
